What do we do?

Established over 75 years ago, Barkers of Tarring are an electrical appliance retailer with a strong service and engineering base. The company prides itself on providing friendly, efficient and honest service, with main focus on the customer's needs. Over the 75 years we have been around, we have gained a loyal customer base of over 6,000 including a significant number of private companies and public bodies including local authorities, the Housing Association, NHS trusts and government agencies.

The company sells a large range of 'White Goods' including laundry, cooling and cooking products, together with an extensive collection of small aplliances such as toasters, kettles, irons etc. We specialise in quality brands such as Miele, Hotpoint, Bosch, Neff and Dyson.

As well as these, we also offer a wide range of Home Entertainment Products. These include LCD and Plasma Televisions, DVD Players and Recorders, HiFi etc. We specialise in Panasonic products, always supplying the very best in quality up-to-date technology, all at competitive prices.

Barkers of Tarring not only offer the sale of quality domestic products, but can also service them. With several trained professional engineers in our in-house workshop, we are able to service all LCD and Plasma Televisions, Microwaves and Audio Equipment. We are the principal repair agents for Panasonic, covering a wide area in Sussex and part of Hampshire.

Electrical appliance testing (PAT Testing) has also recently been added to our list of services and we now provide this facility for a number of private businesses and public bodies. 

Polyrecycle

Polyrecycle, working in partnership with Barkers of Tarring to recycle waste expanded polystyrene. As most of our products are packaged with a lot of polystyrene, the store generates a lot of waste. We are committed to helping to reduce amounts of waste going to landfill that simply doesn't rot away. All of the cardboard, polystyrene etc. that products are packaged in is recycled onsite. Polyrecycle have the means to reduce EPS to 5% of its original size. The service is also being offered to any business in Sussex with similar 'Green' objectives.
