Welcome to the FAQ section, your source for the answers to the questions everyone is asking.

Plasma or LCD?

When all is taken into account, this comes down to personal preference. The best thing to do is come into the showroom and see the two pictures side-by-side. More technically, the Plasma screens have a higher refresh rate, with up to 600Hz, whereas LCDs operate at usually 100Hz. Also, Plasma TVs have a higher contrast ratio, which can be up to 2,000,000:1, meaning they have a much higher range of colours, and the ability to produce a 'true black' colour. LCDs give a much brighter crisp colour, and have a typical contrast ratio of 50,000:1. LCD TVs tend to last longer than Plasma, and are often much lighter. Again, most of it comes town to personal preference.

What Size Should I Choose?

The size you choose is almost entirely dependant on the space/room the TV is going into, personal choice/budget, and whether you want to get plasma or LCD. Generally, TVs that are 42" and above will be Plasma, with the option of LCD, TVs from 19" to 37" will be LCD only. Again the best way to choose is to come into the shop and see the screens for yourself.

What Is Freeview/Freesat?

Freeview and Freesat are extra channel services that offer you more channels to watch (e.g. BBC 3, ITV 2). These channels are free-to-view and the receivers can be in-built into many TVs. Freeview is received via a standard aerial cable, and is the new 'digital' signal being advertised. Freesat is a sattelite broadcast, which means a satellite dish must be fitted in order to view these channels. However, with the Freesat service, you will be able to receive BBC and ITV in High Definition (HD).

What Is Viera Cast?

Viera Cast is a new service offered by Panasonic that offers you limited internet acces through your TV (this requires a hard-wired ethernet connection with broadband). It allows you access to YouTube™, Eurosport™ and many others such as weather and shares. This is a brand new feature that is constantly growing, with new features being added all the time.

Usually, the best way to re-tune the television is to access the Menu, go to the option that says 'Settings', and then there will be some sort of 'Tuner Settings' or something similar. This process is unique to each television manufacturer and individual set.
